Arsenal
Held In Bore-Draw !
Gilles Grimandi
played for the first 62-minutes before picking up a
knee injury as bottom of the table Derby County held
Arsenal to a goal-less draw
at Highbury this afternoon. It was probably Arsenal's
sloppiest performance so far this season and Derby had
the best of the chances, with Vieira almost presenting
a clear chance to Derby's Malcolm Christie as a sliding
tackle deflected back towards his own goal and was intercepted
by the striker. Christie turned well in the box and
found Delap but he wasted a clear chance, allowing Keown
to clear off the line and Grimandi to finally clear
the ball to safety. Grimandi hobbled off in the 62nd
minute and was replaced by Lee Dixon. LIVE MATCH REPORT

Arsenal
Beaten In Ukraine !
A
three match suspension forced Gilles Grimandi to be missing
from the Arsenal squad for tonight's Champions League
game against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukraine. Arsenal
went down 3-0 to the Ukrainians, their first defeat of
their current Champions League campaign. Despite the defeat
Arsenal still finished top of their Group table. Arsenal
had been cleared by UEFA to field an under-strength team
as they had already secured their qualification to the
next stage of the competition but Arsene Wenger surprised
many observers with the inclusion of many of his leading
lights. Grimandi's suspension came after T.V evidence
showed him to lash out at Lazio's Diego Simeone in an
off the ball incident in their last Champions League game.
