Kanu Comes Off The Bench As Arsenal Are Beaten !
Nwankwo Kanu was unable to command a place in the Arsenal starting eleven as they went down 1-0 to Leeds United at Elland Road yesterday, though he did come on as a replacement for Lauren in the 74th minute of the game. The Gunners had seven players booked along the way and manager Arsene Wenger was restrained from reaching the match referee Dermot Gallagher at the end of the game.

Spartak Moscow 4-1 Arsenal !
Nwankwo Kanu returned to Champions League action in Moscow tonight as Arsenal were thrashed 4-1 by Spartak Moscow despite taking a lead in just the second minute of the game. Arsenal under-performed throughout though and Kanu was replaced by Sylvain Wiltord in the 66th minute after once again demonstrating his current all-round lack of form.

Nwankwo Kanu is expected to make the Arsenal starting line-up for Wednesday's Champions League trip to Russia to play Spartak Moscow. Kanu is likely to play just behind the twin strikers of Thierry Henry and Sylvain Wiltord.

Everton 2-0 Arsenal !
Nwankwo Kanu played the full 90-minutes of the match as an under-strength Arsenal were comprehensively beaten 2-0 by Everton in their Premiership clash at Goodison Park, ending Arsenal's unbeaten Premiership run of 12-games. Kanu was completely ineffective throughout, his touches constantly threatening, but never quite ever coming off, though he did have one shot blocked as early as the 7th -minute. Arsenal found it hard to get into the game as they suffered their first ever Premiership defeat at Goodison. Arsenal remain in second place in the League Table but are now five points behind Manchester United.

Nwankwo Kanu is in the Asenal squad for tomorrow's Premiership game against Everton at Goodison Park, an injury crisis at Highbury means that eight first team regulars are extremely doubtful for the game.

Kanu came on in the 66th minute as a replacement for Fredrik Ljungberg as bottom of the table Derby County held Arsenal to a goal-less draw at Highbury this afternoon. It was probably Arsenal's sloppiest performance so far this season and Derby had the best of the chances. LIVE MATCH REPORT

Arsenal Beaten In Ukraine !
Several of Arsenal's big name players, including Kanu, featured in tonight's Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk. Arsenal had been cleared by UEFA to field an under-strength team as they had already secured their qualification to the next stage of the competition but Arsene Wenger surprised many observers with the inclusion of many of his leading lights. Kanu played for the full 90-minutes, playing as an attacking midfielder, just behind twin strikers, as Arsenal went down 3-0 to the Ukranian team. It was their first defeat of their current Champions League campaign, though Arsenal still finished top of their Group table.

Kanu's Discusses Future !
Nwankwo Kanu is set to meet up with Jo Bonfrere, the Nigerian International team coach, in order to discus his future international career. The striker has come in for some heavy criticism following his decision to stay with Arsenal and not to travel to Australia for the Sydney Olympics, including opposition from the Nigerian Minister of Sport and other top officials. Bonfrere has declared that Kanu still features in his plans for the African Nations Cup and the 2002 World Cup.
