Comes Off The Bench As Arsenal
Are Beaten !

command a place in the Arsenal
starting eleven as they went
down 1-0 to Leeds United at
Elland Road yesterday, though
he did come on as a replacement
for Lauren in the 74th minute
of the game. The
Gunners had seven players
booked along the way and manager
Arsene Wenger was restrained
from reaching the match referee
Dermot Gallagher at the end

Everton
2-0 Arsenal !
Nwankwo
Kanu played the full 90-minutes of the match as an
under-strength Arsenal were comprehensively beaten
2-0 by Everton in their Premiership clash at Goodison
Park, ending Arsenal's unbeaten Premiership run of
12-games. Kanu was completely ineffective throughout,
his touches constantly threatening, but never quite
ever coming off, though he did have one shot blocked
as early as the 7th -minute. Arsenal found it hard
to get into the game as they suffered their first
ever Premiership defeat at Goodison. Arsenal remain
in second place in the League Table but are now five
points behind Manchester United.

Arsenal
Held In Bore-Draw !
Kanu came
on in the 66th minute as a replacement for Fredrik Ljungberg
as bottom of the table Derby County held Arsenal to
a goal-less draw
at Highbury this afternoon. It was probably Arsenal's
sloppiest performance so far this season and Derby had
the best of the chances. LIVE MATCH REPORT

Arsenal
Beaten In Ukraine !
Several of Arsenal's big name players, including Kanu,
featured in tonight's Champions League game against Shakhtar
Donetsk. Arsenal had been cleared by UEFA to field an
under-strength team as they had already secured their qualification
to the next stage of the competition but Arsene Wenger
surprised many observers with the inclusion of many of
his leading lights. Kanu played for the full 90-minutes,
playing as an attacking midfielder, just behind twin strikers,
as Arsenal went down 3-0 to the Ukranian team. It was
their first defeat of their current Champions League campaign,
though Arsenal still finished top of their Group table.

Kanu's
Discusses Future !
Nwankwo
Kanu is set to meet up with Jo Bonfrere, the Nigerian
International team coach, in order to discus his future
international career. The striker has come in for some
heavy criticism following his decision to stay with Arsenal
and not to travel to Australia for the Sydney Olympics,
including opposition from the Nigerian Minister of Sport
and other top officials. Bonfrere has declared that Kanu
still features in his plans for the African Nations Cup
and the 2002 World Cup.
