Lauren
Keeps His Place As Arsenal Are Beaten
!
Lauren was in the Arsenal starting
line-up as they went down 1-0 to Leeds
United at Elland Road yesterday but
was replaced by Kanu in the 74th minute.
Lauren
received a Yellow Card as The Gunners
had seven players booked along the
way and manager Arsene Wenger was
restrained from reaching the match
referee Dermot Gallagher at the end
of the game. Lauren was the unlucky
player in the Arsenal defensive wall
as Dacourt's free-kick deflected off
him and into the Arsenal net for the
only goal of the game. LIVE

Beaten In Ukraine !
Lauren featured from the kick-off in tonight's
Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk. Arsenal
had been cleared by UEFA to field an under-strength team
as they had already secured their qualification to the
next stage of the competition but Arsene Wenger surprised
many observers with the inclusion of many of his leading
lights. Early in the first half Lauren lost the ball
on the edge of the box, but it fell straight to Sylvain
Wiltord and he managed to get the ball in to the net,
only for an offside to be given. Lauren then went close
to scoring in the 52nd minute of the game with the score
still standing at 1-0. Lauren played for the full 90-minutes,
but managed to pick up a Yellow Card along the way, as
Arsenal went down 3-0 to the Ukranian team. It was their
first defeat of their current Champions League campaign,
though Arsenal still finished top of their Group table.
