Parlour
Keeps His Place
As Arsenal Are
Beaten !
Ray Parlour kept
his place in the
Arsenal first
team as they went
down 1-0 to Leeds
United at Elland
Road yesterday.
Parlour
received a Yellow
Card as The Gunners
had seven players
booked along the
way and manager
Arsene Wenger
was restrained
from reaching
the match referee
Dermot Gallagher
at the end of
the game. Parlour
did create a great
chance for Thierry
Henry after 32-minutes,
but the Frenchman
squandered the
opportunity to
give Arsenal the
lead by mis-hitting
his shot. Parlour
then gave away
the free-kick
that led to the
Leeds' goal as
a Dacourt shot
delected of Lauren
and into the Arsenal
net.

of giving the ball away
in midfield on too many
occassions.
Parlour rounded off a
disappointing night by
receiving a Yellow Card
which means that he wil

Held In Bore-Draw !
Ray
Parlour played the full 90-minutes as bottom
of the table Derby County held Arsenal to a

Arsenal's sloppiest performance so far this

Parlour
Picked For England Squad !
Ray
Parlour was the only Arsenal player to be named
in the 26-man England squad to face Italy in a
friendly international next week. David Seaman,
Tony Adams and Martin Keown, the backbone of the
England international defence, were all left out.
Caretaker manager and Leicester City boss Peter
Taylor said that he hadn't even spoken to Adams
about the decision to drop him, though he had
managed to get through to Keown on Tuesday and
that the player was naturally disappointed not
to be included.

Arsenal
Beaten In Ukraine !
Several of Arsenal's
big name players, including Ray Parlour, featured in tonight's
Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk. Arsenal
had been cleared by UEFA to field an under-strength team
as they had already secured their qualification to the
next stage of the competition but Arsene Wenger surprised
many observers with the inclusion of many of his leading
lights. Parlour played for the first 72-minutes, before
being replaced by Paolo Vernazza, as Arsenal went down
3-0 to the Ukranian team. It was their first defeat of
their current Champions League campaign, though Arsenal
still finished top of their Group table.
