Silvinho
Keeps His Place As Arsenal
Are Beaten !
Silvinho kept his place
in the Arsenal first team
as they went down 1-0
to Leeds United at Elland
Road yesterday.
Silvinho
received a Yellow Card
as The Gunners had seven
players booked along the
way and manager Arsene
Wenger was restrained
from reaching the match
referee Dermot Gallagher
at the end of the game.
Silvinho almost managed
to give Arsenal the lead
around the half-hour mark,
when Robinson could only
parry his shot back to
the Brazilian who set
up Wiltord for a great
chance only to see the
Frenchman waste his shot
with a poor effort. Silvinho
then had a chance to equalise
late in the game when
his strike from 25-yards
out was acrobatically
saved by Robinson in the
Leeds' goal.

Spartak
Moscow 4-1 Arsenal !
Silvinho returned to Champions
League action in Moscow tonight
as Arsenal were thrashed 4-1 by
Spartak Moscow, despite the Brazilian
defender scoring a great goal
to give Arsenal the lead in just
the second minute of the game.
Arsenal under-performed throughout
though Silvinho was one of the
brighter stars, getting forward
on several occassions.

Silvinho
Recovers !
Arsenal expect to have Silvinho back from
injury in time for Wednesday's Champions
League trip to Russia to play Spartak
Moscow. Silvinho picked up an Achilles
tendon injury when he travelled to Chile
for Brazil's World Cup Qualifier last
week, even though he didn't play in the
game, but appears to be a certain starter
in this vital game.

Arsenal
Held In Bore-Draw !
Silvinho
played the full 90-minutes as bottom of the table
Derby County held Arsenal to a goal-less draw
at Highbury this afternoon. It was probably Arsenal's
sloppiest performance so far this season and Derby
had the best of the chances. LIVE MATCH REPORT

Arsenal
At Almost Full Strength !
Silvinho
and Patrick Vieira are both likely to feature in tomorrow's
Premiership home game against bottom of the league Derby
County after being rested for the midweek Champions
League game against Shahktar Donetsk. Arsenal could
well be at full-strength as David Seaman has every chance
of recovering from his shoulder injury in time for the
game but a recall for Tony Adams is on hold. Oleg Luzhny
may also return after having recovered from a slight
knee injury and he could replace Lee Dixon, who did
make the trip to the Ukraine.

Silvinho
Rested as Arsenal are Beaten In Ukraine !
Silvinho was
rested from the Arsenal squad as they went down 3-0 to
the Shakhtar Donesk in tonight's Champions League game
in the Ukraine, their first defeat of their current Champions
League campaign, though Arsenal still finished top of
their Group table. Arsenal had been cleared by UEFA to
field an under-strength team as they had already secured
their qualification to the next stage of the competition
but Arsene Wenger surprised many observers with the inclusion
of many of his leading lights.
