Arsenal
Beaten In Ukraine !
Paolo Vernazza
got a taste of some Champions League football when he
replaced Ray Parlour in the 72nd minute of tonight's Champions
League game against Shakhtar Donetsk. Arsenal had been
cleared by UEFA to field an under-strength team as they
had already secured their qualification to the next stage
of the competition but Arsene Wenger surprised many observers
with the inclusion of many of his leading lights. Arsenal
went down 3-0 to the Ukranian team. It was their first
defeat of their current Champions League campaign, though
Arsenal still finished top of their Group table.
