Vieira In From The Start As Arsenal Are Beaten !
Patrick Vieira made a surprisng return to the Arsenal starting eleven as they went down 1-0 to Leeds United at Elland Road yesterday. Vieira had been expected to miss the match after failing to recover from the ankle injury that he picked up whilst playing for France. The French midfielder was one of Arsenal's better performers on the day, despite not quite appearing to be fully match fit. The Gunners had seven players booked along the way and manager Arsene Wenger was restrained from reaching the match referee Dermot Gallagher at the end of the game. Vieira could be in trouble with the FA as television replays clearly showed him to be involved in an off the ball 'head-butting' incident with Eirik Bakke, and appearing to kick out at Olivier Dacourt, who is Vieira's great friend off the pitch, in another incident.

Arsenal Held In Bore-Draw !
Patrick Vieira played for the full 90-minutes as bottom of the table Derby County held Arsenal to a goal-less draw at Highbury this afternoon. It was probably Arsenal's sloppiest performance so far this season and Derby had the best of the chances, with Vieira almost presenting a clear chance to Derby's Malcolm Christie as a sliding tackle deflected back towards his own goal and was intercepted by the striker. Christie turned well in the box and found Delap but he wasted a clear chance. LIVE MATCH REPORT
