Vivas On The Bench As Arsenal Are Beaten !
Nelson Vivas was left on the bench as Arsenal went down 1-0 to Leeds United at Elland Road yesterday. The Gunners had seven players booked along the way and manager Arsene Wenger was restrained from reaching the match referee Dermot Gallagher at the end of the game.

Spartak Moscow 4-1 Arsenal !
Nelson Vivas returned to Champions League action in Moscow tonight as Arsenal were thrashed 4-1 by Spartak Moscow despite taking a lead in just the second minute of the game. Arsenal under-performed throughout and Vivas was fairly annonymous though he was on the pitch for the full 90-minutes and received a Yellow Card.

Nelson Vivas is one up to eight first team regulars that could be missing from tomorrow's Premier League game against Everton at Goodison Park as he is suffering from a thigh strain that he picked up in the midweek international between Chile and Argentina.

Vivas Plays As Argentina Win Away !
Nelson Vivas played for the full 90-minutes as Argentina beat Chile 2-0 last night in their World Cup Qualifying game in Chile. Vivas won his 26th international cap in the process as Argentina opened up a 5-point lead at the top of the Qualifying table.

International Duty For Arsenal Stars !
Nelson Vivas and Silvinho are on World Cup duty in South America, with the Argentine squad and the Brazil squad respectively. Igor Stepanovs is on international duty with Latvia in midweek, Sylvain Wiltord, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry have all left for Turkey for Wednesday night's friendly international between Turkey and France. Ray Parlour is with the England sqaud in Turin for their friendly with Italy

Nelson Vivas featured from the kick-off in tonight's Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk. Arsenal had been cleared by UEFA to field an under-strength team as they had already secured their qualification to the next stage of the competition but Arsene Wenger surprised many observers with the inclusion of many of his leading lights. Vivas played for the full 90-minutes as Arsenal went down 3-0 to the Ukranian team, their first defeat of their current Champions League campaign, though Arsenal still finished top of their Group table.
