  ITALY - Yesterday's Games

  19.02.02 - JUVENTUS 0-0 DEPORTIVO - A tired looking Juventus wasted a great chance to put their mark on the Champions League 2nd Stage when they were held to a goalless draw by Deprotibo la Corruna at the Delle Alpi tonight. David Trezeguet wasted a few chances, hitting the post with one, and Alessandro Del Piero missed a penalty, though Juve are on top of their group on goal difference.....Details

  19.02.02 - RODA JC 0-1 AC MILAN - A single first half goal from Jose Mri was enough for AC Milan to beat Dutch side Roda JC in tonight's Uefa Cup 1st Leg game.....Details

  ITALY - Yesterday's Training

  19.02.02 - ATALANTA TRAINING - The Atalanta squad returned to training today. Those players who took part in Saturday night's game with Milan worked under the supervision of the squads athletic coach, the others took part in a small 'in-house' practice match against a team apprentices. Zenoni, Cavalli and Rossini al missed training but all three players did undergo some physiotherapy.

  19.02.02 - BOLOGNA TRAINING - The Bologna squad returned to training today where Salvatore Fresi resumed full training with the others. Gamberini trainied alone after missing last week's game with Udinese following a strong attack of 'flu. There's a friendly game planned for Thursday afternoon against Ravenna.

  19.02.02 - BRESCIA TRAINING - Following his outburst, and the Red Card he received at the end of last Sunday's game, Carlo Mazzone has been banned from the touchline for just one match and fined 35,000 Euros. Calori and Salgado have returned to the training ground and both players took part in a seperate training programme from the others today, though Salgado has every chance of being available for next weekend's game.

  19.02.02 - CHIEVO TRAINING - The Chievo players returned to training today where Eriberto resumed full training with the rest of the squad, he should be available for next weekend's game with Brescia. Simone Perrotta kept himself to a seperate training programme as he attempts to recover from some muscle fatigue. There's a friendly game planned for Thursday afternoon against l'Ares.

  19.02.02 - FIORENTINA TRAINING - Moretti and Adani both look to be unavailable for next Sunday's game as they won't recover from their respective injuries in time. Agostini appears to be recovering well and could make the squad, Vanoli is still on a seperate training programme from the others though he has a chance of making the squad for Sunday.

  19.02.02 - INTER TRAINING - Georgatos is suffering from some back problems and is 'doubtful' for this week's Uefa Cup game against AEK Atherns, though a final decision on his availablilty has yet to be made. Back in Brazil Ronaldo has returned to working with the football.

  19.02.02 - LAZIO TRAINING - Stefano Fiore returned to training with the rest of the Lazio squad today, though he didn't take part in the afternoon practice match. He should be available for selection for next weekend's game. Favalli, Castroman and Simeone all continued on their seperate training programmes as they recover from their respective injuries. Negro and Cesar were both missing from today's session.

  19.02.02 - LECCE TRAINING - The Lecce squad returned to training today with Giorgetti the only missing player. He's gone to see a specialist in Bologna over his injured right calf. Those players who did attend took part in a small 'in-house' practice match. There's a friendly game planned for Thursday afternoon against Martano.

  19.02.02 - PARMA TRAINING - The Parma squad took another training session this afternoon. Almeyda, Boghossian, Grieco and Ferrari all trained seperately and none of the four will be included in the squad for the trip to Israel, though Boghossian has every chance of being available for Sunday's game against Piacenza.

  19.02.02 - PERUGIA TRAINING - On Wednesday Cosmi is expected to name his team for Sunday's game against Roma. Sogliano, Gatti and Baiocco are all available again after missing last week's match because of disqualification, though Blasi is competing for a place in the midfield with Gatti. Fabian O'Neill is likely to make the starting eleven.

  19.02.02 - PIACENZA TRAINING - Sacchetti has returned to full training with the rest of the Piacenza squad and he could be available for next Sunday's game. Cardone continued to train alone today. Sommese is likley to take the place of the disqualified Di Francesco.

  19.02.02 - ROMA TRAINING - The Roma squad took part in a very light training session today before departing for Spain, where they included some last minute shooting practice. Batistuta demonstrated his well-being after missing yesterday's training with some slight muscle problems. Emerson appears to have completely shaken off his ankle injury. Aldair and Zebina are competing for the one available place in the Roma defence for Wednesday's game.Walter Samuel will return to the centre of the defence. Capello looks likely to use a 3-5-2 formation with Batistuta and Totti as 'twin' strikers.

  19.02.02 - TORINO TRAINING - Marco Ferrante underwent a scan today after suffering from some muscle troubles. It revealed that there is no damage and he resumed full training with the other squad members this afternoon.

  19.02.02 - UDINESE TRAINING - Mohammed Gargo missed today's training session after suffering from a high temperature, the same problem that has also laid up De Sanctis and Muzzi. The respective conditions of Gargo and Jorgensen will still have to be assessed before they can be certain of making the squad for Sunday's game with Inter, though Caballero is available again after last week's trip to South America, where he didn't even play. Almiron has flown to Spain in order to see a specialist over his injury. There's a friendly game planned for Wednesday afternoon against the Primavera squad.

  19.02.02 - VENEZIA TRAINING - The Venezia squad were given a stiff talking to in the dressing rooms at the training ground today, following their dismal performance against Piacenza last Sunday. They then resumed training, with some athletic exercises, followed by a small 'in-house' practice match. Vialli has been confirmed as the replacement for the disqualified Bilica for next Sunday's game. Bison, the team's third choice goalkeeper, was missing as he had to visit the dentist, Rukavina underwent a session of physiotherapy, Budan has a knee injury and kept to a seperate training regime. Di Napoli has a high temperature and missed today's session. Magallanes was also misisng with a 'cricked' neck. There's a double training sesison planned for Wednesday, with a friendly against the Romanian side Gloria Bistrata in the morning.

  19.02.02 - VERONA TRAINING - Seric, Gonnella, Italiano and Frick all missed today's training session but Leonardo Colucci did return to work, though he carried out a seperate training programme from the others. He should be available for Sunday's game. Salvetti appears to have recovered from a slight thgh injury and took part in today's session, joining the rest of the squad.
