30.01.02 - TWO TRANSFER REQUESTS - Nuno Gomes and Marco Rossi rocked Fiorentina today when they revealed that they want to move away from the club, citing their lack of wages as the main reason. Both players are keen to leave before any bancruptcy hearing ties them to the Viola.

30.01.02 - INTER LINK EXPRESS - Inter are being linked with a transfer swoop for Ajax defender Cristian Chivu. The player has stated that it has always been his dream to play for Inter but is prepared to wait if necessary.

30.01.02 - JORGENSEN TRANSFER - Udinese's Danish midifelder Martin Jorgensen is playing down press reports linking him with an imminent move to Inter.

30.01.02 - MUTU MOVE - Juventus are being linked with a move for Verona's Romanian striker Adrian Mutu beforeboth the Champions League transfer deadline and the Serie- A transfer window both close.

30.01.02 - CONTRA WANTS OUT - Milan's Romanian defender Cosmin Contra has issued a 'come and get me' plea to Spain. The player, who arrived a tMilan from Alaves, is reportedly unhappy with the lifestyle and the football in Italy and is longing for a return to La Liga.

30.01.02 - DIAWARA SACKED - Torino defender Djibril Diawara, currently on loan at Bolton Wanderers, has been dismissed from the club and sent packing back to Italy after failing to comply with an alcohol curfew.

ITALY - Today's Training

30.01.02 - ATALANTA TRAINING - Pinato missed today's training session because of a high temperature. Massimo Taibi was also missing after 'cricking' his neck. Doni is suffering from some muscle trouble, he should be O.K for Sunday's game, even though he missed today's training session. Bellini did take part in some of today's exercises with Cavalli, Dabo, Rossini and Zenoni keeping to a seperate training regime from the others as they continue their recuperation.

30.01.02 - BOLOGNA TRAINING - Salvatore Fresi appears to be making a quick recovery and he could yet make the starting line-up for Sunday's game against Venezia, the game which will mark Lamberto Zauli's 100th Serie-A appearance. Bologna also unveiled their new signing, Valdo Smit, he has been assigned the Number 34 shirt.

30.01.02 - BRESCIA TRAINING - Mazzone looks likely to field a 'reserve' eleven for tomorrow's Coppa Italia Semi-Final 1st Leg clash with Parma. Today on the training field the coach experimented with Srnicek in goal, Calori, Petruzzi and Bonera in defence, Esposito, Antonio Filippini, Yllana, Sussi and Guana in midfield, with Giunti and Tare in attack. Castellazi, Mangone, Schopp, Toni and Baggio are all likely to start from the bench. Emanuele Filippini is disqualified.

30.01.02 - FIORENTINA TRAINING - Baronio missed today's training session and he will also miss next Sunday's game against Roma. Agostini is unlikely to have recoverd in time for Sunday so Tarozzi and Vanoli could make the starting line-up.

30.01.02 - INTER TRAINING - Alvaro Recoba returned to training with the rest of the Inter squad today, he is likely to be included in the squad for Saturday evening's game against Torino. Dalmat is almost certain to miss the game.

30.01.02 - JUVENTUS TRAINING - The Juventus squad took a double training session today, working in the gym this morning and on the playing field in the afternoon. Igor Tudor took part in today's session and is available for selection again. Amoruso was missing as he is still suffering from a toe injury.

30.01.02 - LECCE TRAINING - The Lecce squad undertook a double training session today under the guidance of their new coach. Cimirotic took part in some of the training but it seems most unlikely that he will be able to return in time for Sunday's game against Juventus. Rodolfo Giorgetti missed this afternoon's session after receiving a blow to his calf but he should be available for Sunday.

30.01.02 - MILAN TRAINING - Pippo Inzaghi resumed training with a football for the first time since his injur . Rui Costa has returned to training with the rest of the squad but it still isn't certain if he'll be available for Sunday's game against Lazio. Paolo Maldini took part in some of today's session but Costacurta was missing. Ambrosini took part in this afternoon's small practice match and he could be available for the trip to the capital.

30.01.02 - PARMA TRAINING - The Parma squad took another training session this afternoon in order to conclude their preperations for tomorrow's Coppa Italia Semi-Final 1st Leg against Brescia. Bolano, Almeyda, Appiah and Micoud all undertook a seperate training regime from the others. Sensini was missing from today's session.

30.01.02 - PERUGIA TRAINING - Fabian O'Neill trained with the rest of he squad today and he could be on the subs bench for Sunday's game against Udinese. Dellas is also available for Sunday's game but negotiations over his proposed transfer to Juventus make it difficult to know what Cosmi's plans for him are.

30.01.02 - PIACENZA TRAINING - The Piacenza squad returned to training today with Lamacchi taking part, he is available for Sunday's game after recovering from a high temperature. Hubner and Cardone both undertook a seperate training programme from the others but they should both be available for Sunday's game. Saccheti missed today's session. Piacenza will intoroduce their new signing Sommese tomorrow, he's been exchanged in a swap deal with Venezia for Ambrosetti.

30.01.02 - ROMA TRAINING - Assuncao undertook some physiotherapy today as he began his recovery from yesterday's operation on his left knee. Cafu and Fuser also underwent some physiotherapy treatment , Cafu has some muscle problems, Fuser has a tendon problem in his left knee. Walter Samuel has fully recovered from his problems and Totti, Montella, Zago, Tommasi, Delvecchio, Cafu, Candela, and Balbo have all returned to training following their return from Vienna.

30.01.02 - TORINO TRAINING - The Torino squad undertook a double session of training today, taking part in a small practice match this afternoon. Mezzano was missing because of a slight problem in his back. On the transfer front Calaio has been loaned out to Ternana and Fissore has been loaned to Livorno.

30.01.02 - UDINESE TRAINING - Pieri and Pineda both appear to have recovered and should both be available for Sunday's game but Sottil and Manfredini will be missing. Scarlato and Caballero could both make the starting eleven.

30.01.02 - VENEZIA TRAINING - The Venezia squad took part in a double traiing session today with athletic exercises and tactical training in the morning and a small practice match in the afternoon. Viali has returned to training but confined himself to working in the gym. De Franceschi undertook a seperate taining programme after complaining of some slight muscle trouble. Ballelo and Patrini have both been convened from the Primavera squad, their first call-up to the first team squad.

30.01.02 - VERONA TRAINING - The Verona squad took a double training session today ahead of tomorrow's friendly game against Veneto. Dainelli and Giuseppe Colucci will both be assessed in tomorrow's game to see if they are up to replaced the disqualified Cannavaro and Camoranesi. Mutu has been called up to the Romanian national squad for their friendly game against France on February 13th.
