BETTING
PREVIEWS - It's
a pretty tight week in Serie-A but I think I'vm
pretty sure that I've managed to find the mistakes
in the 'book', and despite the fact it's always
going to be hard going for the away team in
Serie-A there does appear to be plenty of value
to be had. Bets should be placed as late as
possible, preferably after checking Sunday's
latest team news and probable formations. .
Perugia
-v- Torino - Perugia's
home form has tailed off a bit in recent weeks
whilst Torino are flying but that doesn't accurately
reflect the real situation going into this game.
Torino had a very hard game in last week's Turin
'derby', picking up several injuries and are
suffering from an injury crisis in the ranks
as a result. All three of their usual central
midfelders could be missing from Sunday's game
and Asta, their captain, is still suffering
from a badly swollen ankle. He's most unlikely
to make the squad. All in all Franceschetti,
Scarchilli, Vergassola, Fattori, Asta and Garzya
are among the walking wounded so it's difficult
to see Torino getting a result. Verdict : Draw
or Home Win.
Lecce
-v- Roma - A
heavy Champions League schedule could have taken
it's toll but Roma have survived four games
in nine days relatively unscathed, and it's
hard to see relegation strugglers Lecce getting
a result from this game. Priced up at 3/1 they
take 25% out of the book and with Popescu, Giorgetti
and Biliotti all likely to miss the game they
really should be a lot bigger. That said Roma
haven't exactly been on fire on their travels
this season, they may be without Emerson for
Sunday's game but they have ample cover. Vincenzo
Montella is a real confidence striker and if
he gets his chance then he's likely to take
it with wide open arms . The little aeroplane
could be flying come Sunday. Verdict : Draw
or Away Win.
Brescia
-v- Piacenza - The
Bison returns to his former stamping grounds
this Sunday when Dario Hubner's Piacenza play
Brescia on Sunday afternoon. Brescia are slightly
odds-on, which seems a ridiculously low quote
as they have only won once in sixteen games
since Roberto Baggio's injury. Their only recent
victory came when on Il Codino's brief return
to the action. If it comes down to a battle
between Luca Toni and Dario Hubner, then I'd
go for Hubner every time. Verdict : Draw or
Away Win.
Juventus
-v- Bologna - Juventus
have Champions League efforts, with just 1 win,
7 draws and 1 defeat in their 9 games this season.
So a best quote of 4/9 is ridiculously low.
Bologna are firing on all cylinders, despite
missing Cipriani all season and Signori for
most of it. The real surprise is the first real
form shown in Sereie-A by former laughing stock
Julio Cruz, two goals in two games for Bologna
and one in an international game for Argentine
will give him all the confidence he needs to
get through a patched up Juve defence, who will
be missing the injured Paolo Montero. Like last
week Beppegol is likley to be waiting in the
wings, ready to be hauled on to snatch the irons
from the fire if needed. Verdict : Draw or Away
Win.
