 Cagliari Training Today ! - Capone could be called up from the Primavera squad for Sunday's game against Inter Milan. Suazo should start the game in attack alongside Melis with Carrus in midfield.

 Cagliari Training Today ! - Corradi is likely to start Sunday's game against Inter and he is hoping to repeat the feat of scoring against them, as he did in the Coppa Italia. Corradi should replace the disqualified Mboma, though Suazo and Mayele are also competing for places in the staring line-up.

 Cagliari Training Today ! - Carrus could return to the midfield for Sunday's game against Inter, with Melis and Suazo combining up-front. It appears that Ulivieri is going to give a game to some of the younger squad members and those who will be remaing at Cagliari for next season. The new coach for next season will be Bellotto. Cagliari President, Massimo Cellino, has denied that he wants to sell the team after newspaper reports suggested that he wanted to let go.

 Cagliari Latest ! - De Patre and Mboma have both been disqualified and they will both miss the last game of the season, against Piacenza on Sunday. Conti will also miss the game as he picked up an injury to his left ankle during Sunday's game and will be forced to rest for the next ten days. Villa, Abeijon, Cavezzi and Ametrano carried out a some training today, all four of them are recovering from injuries. Cagliari will return to full training tomorrow (Wednesday) and will play a 'practice' game against their Primavera squad on Thursday.

 Piacenza 1-1 Cagliari (Player Reports)

Scarpi - Performed well throughout and couln't be faulted on the goal
Villa - Was very unfortunate to put the ball through his own net for Piacenza's equaliser in the 14th minute
Lopez - Played a hard line game in defence, giving away numerous free-kicks
Zebina - Tackled well throughout and made some timely interceptions
Mayele - Didn't really show anything and his movement was poor, was replaced by Melis at half time
Melis - Performed quite well throughout after coming on at half-time for Mayele, and showed that he deserved his place in the team
Berretta - Caused problems when he went forward, he doesn't deserve to be playing in Serie-B next season
Conti - Tried hard in midfield but gave away a lot of free-kicks and was replaced by Carrus after 50-minutes
Carrus - Replaced Conti in the 50th minute and performed quite well, he should improve a lot in Serie-B next year
De Patre - Played quite well and dindn't make many errors
Macellari - Looked slow and didn't really get into the game
Mboma - One of the best players on the pitch and caused problems for Lucarelli in the Piacenza defence
Suazo - Played very well and opened the scoring for Cagliari in the 9th minute, was replaced by Corradi in the 77th minute
Corradi - Replaced Suazo in the 77th minute but didn't have time to get into the game

 Ulivieri's Comments ! - Renzo Ulivieri was happy with the performance of some of the younger members of his squad following yesterday's 1-1 draw with Piacenza. "The young players are good, but they must still grow a little more. I would be very surprised if Berretta didn't find a place with a larger Serie-A club." Speaking about his own future, Ulivieri went on to say "Unfortunately trainers don't do the choosing, we are chosen, so it doesn't depend on me. Next Sunday we will play Inter, who are fighting for a place in the Champions League, but we will be without De Patre and Mboma, who both picked up Yellow Cards and will now be disqualified."

 Cagliari Training Today ! - Fabian O'Neill is in trouble with Cagliari after leaving for Uruguay before the end of the season and without permission from the club. Oliviera and De Patre will both miss Sunday's game against Piacenza but Conti should return to midfield. Velasques Suazo has returned to the squad following a good performance with the Honduran national squad and could start Sunday's game in attack. Tomorrow Cagliari will play a friendly game. Luis Oliveira spoke about his club's plight "We have been condemmed to Serie-B for some time now but we are going down with great dignity. This season has bben one which I could have never imagined, I don't know how we have slipped up so badly, for myself I won't make any excuses, everybody expected more from me. I don't know about my future but I know that I have had a bad season."

 Cagliari Training Today ! - Cagliari returned to training today, Tiziano de Patre trained seperately from the rest of the squad as he is attempting to recover his fitness, Giovanni Sulcis missed the session. Cagliari are due to train again tomorrow afternoon before playing a friendly game against an amateur squad on Thursday.

 O'Neill Conflict ! - Fabian O'Neill, Cagliari's Uruguayan midfielder, appears to be in some sort of dispute with his club. O'Neill is in his fifth season with Cagliari and has made 120 appearances for them but he did not join up with the rest of the squad as they withdrew to their training ground in order to prepare for next week's game. He is believed to have returned to Uruguay and has not informed his club as to his reasons why, he wil not be used in the two remaing games of the Championship.

 Cagliari Post Match Comments ! - Cagliari coach Renzo Ulivieri was satified with yesterday's 2-2 draw with Bologna after six successive defeats for his squad. "It is not easy to motivate yourself under these conditions, the only dignity you can get is to hold on. We have been very lucky in the game against Bologna but the draw is a good reward for the job we have done.".
