Barhtez - Made a decent early save from Tomasson, always safe and set up a few good counter-attacking chances with his early release of the ball

Thuram - Had a great battle with Gronkjaer throughout the game, showing great strength in defenceand managed to get forward on several occassions

Desailly - Won his share of balls in midfield, always in the right place and had a solid game

Blanc - Opened the scoring with a well executed goal, a tower of strength throughout in defence

Lizarazu - Got down the wing on occassions but didn't play to his best when attacking though cleaned up at the back a few times

Djorkaeff - Played quite well down the flank. Repaced by Vieira in the 58th minute

Vieira - Repaced Djorkaeff in the 58th minute, played one good through ball to Anelka before unselfishly laying on the third for Wiltord

Deschamps - Made a few timely interceptions and a few good passes though also made a couple of mistakes

Petit - Had a fairly quiet game, gave away one dangerous free-kick in the second-half

Zidane - Had an outstanding game and was given a 'free' role, had one good shot on target late in the game and forced a good save from Schmeichel. Was at the centre of everything

Anelka - Regularly broke through the middle and showed good pace.Combined well with Henry, but was caught offside on a few occssions. Replaced by Wiltord in the 81st minute

Wiltord - Repaced Anelka in the 81st minute and scored the final goal fromwhat appeared to be an offside psoition

Henry - Marauded down the left fllank and down the centre and had far too much pace for Colding. Combined well with Anelka and scored a great solo goal for the second, running half the length of the field
