ABOUT
US
Channel 2 first started
back in 1997 and concentrated on the 1997-98
Italian Serie-A season. It originally began
on my own home pages but success forced it
into becoming a commercial venture and a partnership
with NETLINE soon began. To find out more
about netline go to http://www.netline.co.uk.
Basically they are a Web Design Company, but
they became involved at around about the time
of the 1998 World Cup which we covered extensively,
some of it in partnership with SPORTS FIRST
For
the 1998-1999 Season we covered the English
Premiership and Serie-A. and traffic continued
to grow and at one point we were reported
as being the 7th most popular web-site in
the UK., though this was not without it's
own set of problems. Netline stopped providing
input, though they are still there and concentrating
on their own projects and our arrangement
with FOOTBALL WORLD ended when that magazine
folded.
The
1999-2000 Started well enough but I was doing
everything by myself at that point and family
health problems forced me to take my eye off
the ball.
By this time it was obvious that the web had
changed quite a bit since 1997 and a major
design overhaul was required. Around this
time Dave Andrews, who was my original collaborator
from Netline left netline and London to live
in the country, though he can still be found
at http://wwww.mymatedave.co.uk Sadly I didn't
quite manage it in time for the 2000/2001
season but it's almost ready now andover the
next few months I hope to get everything back
in place but as I'm doing everything myself
it's a little bit difficult to be up-to-date
with everything, so please be patient !
