Italy
1 - 0 Morocco !
A single goal from
Damiano Tommasi helped Italy to secure a 1-0
victory over Morocco in tonight's International
Friendly game whjich was played at Piacenza.
Trapattoni used the game to experiment with
some squad players, leaving Buffon, Nesta,
Maldini and Del Piero on the bench but the
match was marred by the dismissal of Alessio
Tacchinardi for a second bookable offence
in the 83rd minute. Elsewhere Romania beat
Hungary in their World Cup Group 8 Qualifying
game to move within two points of Italy at
the head of their Group Table......Match

Lithuania
0 - 0 Italy !
Italy were held
to a goalless draw in Lithuania tonight in
their World Cup 2002 Group 8 Qualifying game.
The Italian midfield and strike force were
largely ineffective with Totti, Del Piero
and Vieri all underperforming but the defense
help up well. Bufon, Cannacaro and Maldini
were the only players to shine. The result
leaves the Azzuri still 5-points clear of
Romania at the top of their Group Table with
only one game left to play. They face Hungary
at home on the 6th October.......Match Stats
